And yet, and yet…

This is my attempt to add content out into the world in yet another sphere. I often have the opportunity to share through my teaching ministry, through leadership development and relationships, even through the Citizen ATX podcast; and yet I crave to reach out further, differently. For a long time I’ve desired to impact people through writing, in particular by the ways I’ve been impacted by others writing. I suppose the blog will be an extension of that.

Why the name? It comes from Søren Kierkegaard’s Fear and Trembling which is a tremendously formative book for me. It presses to the edge of where logic goes and points to the adventure of faith beyond. I’m drawn to the quote where he particularly says “He would have been admired in the world, and his name would not have been forgotten; but it is one thing to be admired, and another to be the guiding star that saves the anguished.” I like that. I feel that there’s more to the truth that I’m pressed to present than just gaining admiration. Ultimately, I don’t care about that. I desire for the things that God lays on my heart to change the world for you, to allow God to set your heart ablaze. This blog is an extension of my thoughts, and yet it is for you.

So what to expect from this blog? There will be devotional musings, philosophical experiments, snippets from books and messages I’ll write. It will deal with spiritual questionings, the reasonings of truths and untruths. I hope it will give edge to the gnawing thoughts that cling and drip from my conscious mind. It will be an exercise and discipline of application. And yet, perhaps there will be a bit of starlight in it for you. Read on friends.
